MOVIES AND SERIES

Today i’m going to tell you about movies and shows i like. I don’t think i have a favorite

movie, but i really enjoy watching movies in my free time, actually lately is the only thing

i do because i don’t have much time to do other things. The movies i like are always

kind of “dark”, because i really like bizarre things and i have no idea why.

The directors i like the most are David Fincher specially Fight Club, Seven, and

Mindhunter, Quentin Tarantino for his awesome movies: Hateful eight, Pulp Fiction

and Inglourious basterds and Stanley Kubrick for the clockwork orange. I believe i

like this directores because my mom and dad used to always talk about these movies

when i was little, but they didn’t let me watch them, so i grow up with that curiosity

and when i was old enough to understand the movies i saw them all.

I also like movies like “trainspotting”, “requiem for a dream” and “we need to talk

about kevin”.

If i have to talk about my favorite series i might never stop so i will tell you about just

a few i like: Breaking bad, Mindhunter, The haunting of Hill House (this is new one but

it's awesome and really scary if you’re into that),  Narcos and Black mirror.

You can see there that i’m a huge netflix fan, i’m always talking with my friends about

new or old shows we should watch. So if you know any show related to the ones i just

told you about, comment the name so i can add them to the list!

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

When i finish my studies i’m sure that i want to keep studying because if

everything goes as planned, i’m going to end college when i’m 23, so i still

will be really young, i would like to keep studying about history and

landscaping, because their are both subjects i enjoy learning, we don’t have

any classes related to landscaping but i think it complements extremely

well with architecture and it can help you to make your projects more

beautiful and complete.

About history, we do have a lot of classes about it, but i would like to know

more about latin american history and how this is applied or reflected in our

countries, i believe history says a lot about our society and the way we plan

or use our cities.

I would like to study in Chile and abroad, in Chile because since our country
is really seismic, our construccions will always be different than other
countries that doesn’t have to take care of this in their designs, so for safety
i would like to study the construccion part in here. But i also think that i
would like to go abroad, because it’s really important to know differents
perspectives to complement our work and design with a different point of
view, because often we lock ourselves in what we already know and what’s
normal for us, so learning new things outside this box it can be really helpful
and interesting.

PHOTOGRAPHY

My favorite type of photography is about landscapes and architecture or a mix of both,

especially black and white pictures.

I really enjoy to see beautiful pictures, so in the social media I follow a lot of architecture

accounts, just to see how great and pretty spaces can be when you add design on them.

But that’s just the pretty part of photography, i think pictures are so much more than

that, so I also really like to see pictures of manifestations in different countries, when

you can see a photo of what’s going on somewhere you can picture it so much better

than just reading about it. Sometimes you can really empathize with the people living

there, for example there’s a famous journalism contest called World Press Photo

which shows the reality of wars or conflicts all around the world. I went there last year

and i saw pictures of the war in Siria, and i left in shock, i knew all about the war and

what’s has been going on there, but seeing the pictures made me realize how bad it was.

I think photography it’s a great way to make people wake up and realize what’s really

happening sometimes even in their own country. Another good example is animal

pictures, there you can really see the cruelty that they have to take from humans, i

know a lot of people that had become vegan or vegetarian just for watching that

sort of pictures. So i believe graphic things can have a huge impact in our lives

because they make you react easier than texts.

My future job

I study architecture, but you can work in many things related to it, the part i like the most
about my career is urbanism, i like that part because the way the city is says a lot about
the culture of the country and the people that lives in it. You can find so many differents
types of cities around the world and i think it’s impressive how towns represent what the
country stands for.

In this pictures you can see really clear what i’m saying. For example Barcelona is a
very organized, compact, and historical. While New York has a totally different point of
view, you can see from the picture that is all about progress, growing and using the space
as much as possible without following any order.

I also like this because you can work in it all around the world and learn different things
in each city. So i think working outdoors is my thing besides i don’t feel attached to my
city in particular, so i don’t think i can learn much working from here.

About the salary i would like to make enough money to be able to live comfortably with
what i do without having to work in other stuff I don’t enjoy that much.

Well, that’s it! I really hope I can work in something related to this when i’m older.
